Hello all. Always wanted to try detecting and my wife heard me, so she bought me a Bounty Hunter Quick Draw II for Christmas. I'm sure it's a low-end MD (not that my wife is cheap), but can't wait to get out there. In Dallas we woke up X-Mas morning to snow, so I haven't been able to take it out yet. I don't do cold very well.
I've watched a couple of videos and was wondering if a little garden spade would do, or should I take a full-size shovel. I wanted to hit some parks around here, but I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate me digging up big holes, but is that what it takes most time? I would of course replace the divot as best I could, but is there issues with stuff like that? That's taking for granted that it is legal to hunt in the park in the first place.
Can't wait to start hunting, digging, finding, and posting.
