Hello to all! I am new to the site as of yesterday. I live in the Western "burbs" of Chicago. I've been a hunter of all types of treasure for as far back as i can remember. I've been metal detecting since I bought my Compass "Judge" back in 1979. I currently use a White's Classic ID. I don't get out as often as I would like. I collect all sorts of things, but mostly Military collectibles. I love history and appreciate being able to hold history in my hands. It's pretty overwhelming.
I am also a collector of coins, stamps, books ,fossils, and just about anything that I think is neat. Sometimes that conflicts with my Wife's idea of what's neat.
Been an owner and restorer of MG's, Triumphs, and Mustangs since the late 1960's. My current toy of choice is a 2001 Toyota MR2. Lots of fun!!!!
I did a stint as a Gunner's Mate aboard a DLG in the Navy from 1968 to 1972. I currently work as a resident engineer for a national transportation consulting firm.
This is a great site and I look forward to exploring it.
