Always wanted to get into the hobby but always had trouble finding the time. I finally have found the time and can't wait to get out and start digging. I got a screaming deal on a new Fisher F5 as they have apparently been discontinued recently and am anxiously waiting for it to get here next week.
Primarily I am interested in relic and historic finds as well as coin shooting. I'll mostly be detecting in the Bay Area of California and north but taking frequent trips down to the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean and plan to search there as well. Any tips/pointers or people in those areas to share the hobby with and pointers would be greatly appreciated.
