Hello there, My name is Chris "Kiko" Kus, and I live in Southern Ontario. I'm new to the hobby, and everything that involves detecting, I'm a youngster, and recently purchased a Bounty Hunter Discovery Jr., to see the detecting world and hobby. So far, after a few digs..I LOVE it!! I hope to get into the hobby deeply, and looking for soem info on various things. I've been on this forum reading amazing stories about your detecting adventures, and how just being out there is the love of the hobby! Most of you are in the states, so, wonfdering a few things about the hobby here in Canada ;D

1) What am I to look for in Canadian Soil?
2) Where are good places to hunt?
3) Which detector should I upgrade to?
4) Is there anything as remerkable to find in soil?
5) What should I set my Eliminator to?
6) Any extra info on the hobby would be great!

Thank you very much, and I hope I can have as many greats have as all of you have had!

Thanks, HH, Chris

Hi!..... Welcome!

You are in a good location. I have read of many good finds in and around that area. Some guys from Ontario that used to come to the treasure hunts in Massachusets back in the late 70's would bring alot of the finds they were making up there,(buttons, bullets, buckles, gold coins). A lot of Indian war and Revolutionary war activity occurred in the eastern great lakes area. You need to do some reading up on the history of your area. Get some old maps.

Have fun!........HH
