What are the best methods\detectors to search inside my house and attic?

Maybe a pin pointer with adjustable sensitivities (distance). I think a regular metal detector may have difficulties with EMI inside the house. Good luck!

This is the Garrett Pro Pointer for an example that has adjustable sensitivities. You probably don’t need it to be waterproof so a lower cost pin pointer would probably fill the need as long as it has some detecting depth. Good luck!

Welcome. There is not detector that won't also pick up wires, nails, etc. From experience I would say check your couches and armchairs.
