Hello all,
Just wanted to take the time to let you you all know that I have been checking your posts (Today's Finds) for sometime now. Great finds and thanks for all the info. I'm new to MD'ing but have picked up a lot from you all in a short time. I have had and ACE 250 for about a month now. It's working out well I have found a ton of clad and today my first silver nickle. I found it in the middle of a corn field 2 inches deep it's a 1943 with lots of wear. It looks like it had a lot of pocket time. I don't have a picture yet but I will attach a test pic. Let me know it if I did it right........

Thanks for all the info on MD'ing, Relics, Treasure, where to hunt, how to baby my 250, and on and on and on

Welcome Kermit to the forum ! You're right about it being a good place to learn about metal detecting. I've learned a lot myself here. From what I hear, the 250 seems to be a very good machine. So it sounds like you're off to a good start. Looking forward to your finds ! Good Luck !

Welcome to the site..the first time I posted here I got like 8-10 replys where.

at some other sites it was like pulling teeth to get 1-2.
these people are nice and take the time to respond.....especially when you hit the wall and can't get to the next level in your detecting.......ask a question and good info will appear.

my top keys:
1. take your time, you're not cutting wheat with a sickle.
2. brush the ground with your coil......its not an air test.....stuff is deep.
3. trust your detector and save digging time.
4. solid small repeatable targets are usually good stuff.
5. remember to go prepared: bug spray, ivy block, extra batteries, charged batteries, zip locks, duct tape, etc.
6. 100 pull tabs dug= 1 gold ring.
7. all areas may produce.

both the jons are right on with the tips DIG ALL the alum you can clean up the areas your working so the next time you go back less hasstle and less to dig more surface - an icnh finds to found when you come back to recheck a cleaned out area the masking(target concelled under trash) will not be as bad the trash sucks but find quality will go up dramaticlly!!!!!
