Hi - My name is Jennifer and I started metal detecting this year (Christmas really). My brother in VA enjoys the hunt and I wanted to give it a try. I can tell you "try" is the operative word right now... I am not finding anything but trash right now, but I will get the hang of it I am sure.

I live in south east NC on the coast, so there are beaches to explore as well as parks and old building sites. I need to work on my approach to get permission for sites. I am also a photographer and it's much easier for me to ask permission to photograph a place than it is for me to ask if I can MD it :)

Anyhow, hope to learn some tips and tricks from you all - I'll share what I find out :)

Thanks

Photograph old homes as an icebreaker..... good luck and welcome.

Welcome to Tn Jen,living on the NC coast is the best if both worlds to detect in,Civil War era finds as well as great beach hunting.Hope you find a lot of goodies.

Welcome aboard! Take a look at Sub-Forums: North Carolina for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome! I frequently hunt the Atlantic Beach/ Emerald Isle area here in N.C. as it's only a 30 min. drive for me. You're in a good area, don't sweat it, the idea is to have fun! This is a lot like fishing, not every trip do you catch the big one! Keep at it, you'll soon get the hang of it. Good luck, and H.H. mr.b

welcome and good luck. You will get the hang of it.
