Got into a new spot today for a couple hours and apparently this was a large camp site. I found pieces of a clay pipe, part of an inkwell, a bunch of round balls and mini balls. But the mini balls have me stumped. I've never seen anything quite like them, very long and they have a deep thin cone in the base. I dug a normal mini and a Sharps bullet as well. Can anybody tell me what the heck the larger Mini's are?

Great hunt Fullstock!!! Looks like you have a promising site. I can't ID the bullets, but they look period to me. Maybe if you had some measurements and weight someone can nail it down. Congrats on a nice hunt.

Awesome hunt...

very sweet hunt! pretty exciting pulling history out of the ground like that

The odd long ones could possibly be post war 45/70 cals?

I was told that the long ones weren't from the Civil War, but the others were. Still a good day though.
