I am new to your forum and have found it very helpful and interesting. My wife bought me a Bounty Hunter Quiksilver for Christmas. So far I have found 36 coins all clad or pennies. I have been practicing at a school yard and my own yard.( my wife loves that!) I don't quite have the hang of making a nice neat small hole. I did find some silver the other day as my wife works at a bank and she bought $376 worth of halves for me to look thru( they came from the coin counting machine). I found 1-liberty walking(1945), 1-franklin(1952-d), 1-90% kennedy, 9-40% kennedys, 1-good luck token and 3-mexican coins. i have collected coins for 30 years so I think I'm really going to enjoy metal detecting.

Welcome!! You will find this to be one of the greatest hobbys ever...(my oldest son Andrew wants me to correct that..he informed me that is my opinon, not a fact...got to love 9 year olds! ). I love it and my wife bought me mine as a way for me to deal with my stress and to get out in the open. Plus I am a kid at heart and I love digging in the dirt.
