I am new to CRH and an newbie to this Forum. I went to the local bank today and ask for loose halves. They had 2 which were newer but I took them anyways. i also asked if they had pennies and I have been collecting since I was young. The teller said a lady just dropped off $5 in pennies. The rolls look pretty old and she had her phone # on the rolls (very sloppy writing). So I just checked the end of one and it was a 1945 wheatie! I cannot wait to go home and check the rolls. I will let you know how I do.

Well.... all in all really goods rolls. A lot of pennies from the 70's, about 55. As for the wheaties, got 5 all from the 40's and 50's. Not bad for $5 in pennies. I am hooked!

Do you recommend saving the pennies pre 82? I am saving them but I just want others opinions.

Thanks!

I save my pre 82s. There's no guarantee that they'll ever be worth anything, but if you can afford it and you have the room, why not?
