But seriously, welcome to the show ajhope. I believe Casca was asking about the pictures of the coin you posted, and I believe everyone including myself, isn't entirely sure what exactly Casca means, lol.

welcome to tnet. i think casca is just asking for ANY type of back story..what advice are you looking for?...did you find this coin? do you want to know the value? type? ...
 

Sorry, yes my husband found it while metal detecting. I have found similar coins on the internet but not an exact match. Would also like to know its value.. Thanks in advance
 

It appears to be a 1/2 Real Mexican coin, dated 1782 (?) during the reign of Charles III; composed of 0.903 pure silver. IF in VG condition, it would be worth about $10.

Looks to be Very Fine to my eyes-- I would think that would bring the value at least up to the $25 to $30 range
