I like my Quick Draw Pro. Put a 7" coil on it, it drops an inch in depth, then paint the face with flashy colors and you have a Teknetics for kids.

I just picked up a Eurotek Pro by Teknetics and what a fantastic little detector. Talk about Target ID'ing! I'm fast becoming a fan for Tek's detectors!
Best of Luck!

They are closer than you think.

What makes the Digitek more for kids is a shorter lower rod (longer for adults available) a fancy face plate and the 7" coil. It is an advancement over the BH junior and makes the Digitek a detector that would be hard to outgrow. A great idea by FTP. IMO.

The Digitek is sold by dealers for $179. I've seen prices on the Quick Draw pro as low as $175. BHs follow a different pricing structure with no MAP (minimum advertised price), which is why MD dealers don't handle them and chain stores do.

I think FTP is probably the most forward thinking company around. The features offered vs. price is really unbelievable. I was just telling a friend about what a sleeper the LRP is. I loved the F2, my Omega is amazing IMO (especially with NEL Sharpshooter) & I can't wait to get an F44! I had a New Gold Bug & sent it back, I was very disappointed in the air tests and sensitivity to small lead. I hesitate to say it was a bad machine, I may well have gotten a defective unit. Other than that, every FTP machine from my BH Fortune Hunter, to my Tek Omega, has been above expectations.

I have to agree. I went from three BH's to a Tek Delta and I'm lovin' it. My next upgrade will definitely be a FTP; probably another Tek. Just not sure which one yet. It depends on what shows up. I pride myself on buying "lightly used" equipment and letting someone else pay the depreciation.

In the meantime I don't even feel the need to upgrade yet. I am looking at a NEL Sharpshooter coil for the Delta though. I think that will be one really nice setup.

I can't understand why some of these machines get such a bad rap from so many people. For the money you can't really ask for much more, especially where the newer generations are concerned. Talk about bang for the buck.

Had I not started off and FOUND TREASURE with my little $30.00 Tracker IV I may have never gotten into this hobby as heavily as I have.
So, Thank you FTP.

The Tracker IV one of the most underrated machines around. Sure, it's not a depth monster, but it will find jewelry & pay for itself fairly quick even with only clad! I've seen some guys that remove the meter & mod them into stealthy detectors with a smaller control box. I believe I saw a diy waterproof Tracker 4 as well.
