Maybe it would make sense to have a "For Sale General Merchandise" sub forum not related to THing?
This was a suggestion from one of the forum members----
I think this will be a great idea......
I'm all for it - not because I got some of my threads closed - because they were not 100% TNET ideal posts....>>> I was still trading.
I think this new sub forums will bring more people and the bottom line more money for the owner.
I will be willing to pay 20 - 30 bucks a year to be able to post my stuff ( some not relally related to treaeasure hunting ) thinks such as computers/radios/ PM3 players, game systems/ games etc.....all the items will be posted as a trade for silver/ gold coins, rings etc......some times just $$.
Could we start some kind of voting of this such as :
X - yes - 3 members
O - no
O - maybe

Guys and Gals, I don't know how hard it would be to start a new sub forum but it would make sense given the fact that we have a good community of folks here. On the other hand, there are many other ways to find unrelated items to buy like Crgs-List, the local Flea Market,etc. When we have a specialized forum like this I applaud the moderators for keeping the items related to our wonderful hobby. Going back to the first point though, it looks like many members would like to be able to trade/buy/sell unrelated items amongst friends within the hobby. It would be nice to see a sale/trade sub forum marked "general" that I or others would not have to filter through if I was looking for a new coil for my Minelab and still allow people to trade goods like handmade jewelry,etc.

Just my 2 cents.....

You might try posting it as a poll instead of a regular thread so folks can see how many voted for and against it without reading through and counting the votes.....just a suggestion I have no clue how much more work it would make for our Marc and the moderators but it does sound like a good idea given that it would not cause too much hassle.

You can post a poll in whatever area of the forum you want....you can post it in "about this forum" just like you posted this thread....just go like you are going to start a new topic....then pick "post new poll" instead of topic.....unless they removed that option! I forgot they have been moving furniture around lately! lol Guess I best look and see if it is still there! lol

Yep....it is still there....clear to the right.....where it says post new topic......read to the right margin....now it says "new poll" but it is still an option! yay!
