Hey everyone,

I had a couple hours to kill today so I decided to try an area I spotted last night on google earth that looked interesting and managed to score 3 coins in that time. My first coin was a Buffalo nickel off a cart path and just off the path were two very small pens and in one of them 5ft apart I pulled my second King George II half penny(1749) and my first ever Shield nickel!!! There's no date on either nickel and the coins are still a bit dirty but here's some crappy cell phone pics for now. Thanks for looking and HH out there!

Thanks, the macro setting on my DC is insufficient to take pics of coins >:( . However, I'll probably get a new one next month.

Thanks Steel! :)

One more thing...I'm wondering if this coin is a counterfeit because it rang up slightly lower than usual for a copper coin that size. From what I read about what indicates a counterfeit it has both counterfeit and non counterfeit features. The coin has a bit of an oval shape to it but the lettering is clear and the coin isn't heavily pitted nor are there strange marks or errors from what I can tell. I haven't measured the coin's diameter or weighed it (scale broke) but it would appear that this coin is not pure copper. if it is a counterfeit it's a very well made one! Either way it's a cool find to me but if anyone has thought on this please feel free to share them. HH out there everyone!
