New Sluice Mat?

My buddies wife was throwing out these brand new door mats that she didn’t like the color of. I got to looking closer at them and the have tons of small vinyl loops (not un-like miners moss). They also have a thick rubber backing. I haven’t seen this mat used anywhere but looks ideal to replace miners moss. Mainly because it looks like it might let go of some of the light stuff that miners moss traps but still dense enough to hold all the fine gold.
Has anyone seen this used before?

JMO The weave appears to be too open and spaced. Having a rubber backing won't allow the heavies to settle on carpet which in most cases is under the moss. I could be wrong, so try it and see what happens.

I agree with Mike on this and give it a try with some fine gold to check it out , BUT the price was right !

….and actually I bet it could work under the moss instead of carpet.
