Tony and I got out in the deep freeze this afternoon for four hours detecting. We went back to our new mega site and found yet another site with this array of fields. Definitely an older site but no military this time. Did pick up over 20 buttons including a nice tombac and a pair of cuff links! Also managed 7 coins with what I am sure is a counterfeit George III. A few musket balls including one with some weird dimpling and a few shoe buckles but the find of the day for me is the sword guard! Found the two pieces a few feet apart but couldn't find any more...this time.

I'm thinking that its a military site because of the sword guard and the pistol shot balls.

Looking forward to warmer temps!

really nice finds. Congrats!

Nice assortment of coins and relics, congratulations! :occasion14:

What's interesting about that copper is it looks cast, which is normal for George I & II, but not III. It's funny why that is but I do believe the vast majority of counterfeit George III are struck.

I'd deal with the cold to hunt! :happy2:

This site is shaping up to be a mega - site. So far in the series of four fields we have found six distinct sites with one being Loyalist, two being Colonial, two being Victorian and one 1940s. There's still a lot of areas that we haven't had the chance to search so I know there are more sites here. Best part is they are all walking distance from home!

Nice assortment of finds there.

Awesome site!!!
