New Site.... Some promising signs of age .... and old military button

Hi Guys and Gals

Made it out for a hunt finally after 4 or 5 days....weather has been horrible !!!!!!

Went to a new spot but the ground was frozen at half tide to high water. So worked towards the low water....lotsa old iron spikes .
Picked up 3 coins but poor shape... Noa Scotia Half Penny 1832 / One Stiver 1838 / Indian Head Penny.

The finds indicate there might be some good stuff hiding here.

Nothing special but thought I would share the results.


The Military button was found by a hunting partner his 1st..... can anyone ID it ?

Button is neat , I see a 60 or 69? Early 1800s vintage
You got some decent shore sites, hope the land nearby is accessible when the time is right

Will have to go have another look at his button.......60 or 69 never entered my mind for some reason......but very well could be . !!

Yes, 60th Regt. of foot, but no, not thought of as a rare or valuable button. Still good as a find, and I've had mine so long now it's like a relic x 2.

yeah it was fairly close to the start. When I first replied I knew it was 60th, but wasn't even sure if I had found one, or was just familiar having seen others... and I have seen others. But looking in my case the memory started to come back a bit. I have an idea which site I dug it and was one of the first old ones I had hunted.... old ones that had a lot to find.
