HEY GUYS AND GALS

This is a combined 2 hunts...10 hrs total.

Nothin super..but still happy with the results .

Went to a spot his morning I have been wanting to go to since last year. A bit disappointed but there is a lot of ground left to cover yet...so still got my hopes up. Thought this would be just a old site from 1600-1800s.....which I know it is...but didn,t find many indications of it other than the musket balls......YET.
Good news is...it looks like a multi-generational site....as the silvers and snuff tin would indicate.

The bottom picks are from todays hunt....top ones are from Thursdays hunt.

Need an ID on the copper button if possible !!!!

Also any ID on the old copper would be appreciated.

I definitely would be VERY HAPPY with a day like those! Nice assortment of early relics and coins.

Did you guys get wet?

Nope--- just a drizzle for about an hour or so then spitted snow--- but not enough to get wet. But sure looked like it was gonna rain hard.

Was back home by 1.

The 2 silvers helped the day for me.

Cousin ED had a 1916 big cent.....and a old bow saw.

the heart could be a horse bridal or harness piece that was right in the center of the horses chest area. see them on civil war relic sites. great digs!!

Wow
love the bell
the company that makes that bell goes back before Christ him self walked the earth..

I have seen these hearts in the middle of the oxen yokes also.

Copper is a George III Halfpenny 1806 or 1807. (could be 1799 too, if you measure it that will tell the difference)

Button is just your typical large late 1700s designed button.

Crotals

sleigh bell

i read some that company is old many

generations

we find them a round here also
the mines use them on the donkeys horses
and the saw mills also
there a warning bell. way two go on that find

COOL !!!!!!

They have many uses then.....have a couple that are only 1/3 that size. Some have a very nice patina on them.

Can't complain with that buddy! I know you hoped for older stuff and you'll find it. I have two islands to hunt with 1600s activity and am ready to check em out soon. Any hunt with silver is a good hunt man. Old coppers love me but old silvers run from me :-)

Yup..silver is very weird for me...

Is feast or famine... will go for weeks without a silver...then will find a bunch of them....no rhyme or reason to it.

Can,t remember you posting a silver yet ...... but they gotta be there !!

Will try again tomo see what happens.

tyvm... For the IDs !!!!

At least the button and muskets balls date what I expected at that site...so not totally disappointed..is a big site...so gotta sniff em out .

My first silver ever was an 1887 Victoria 25 cent. Very low mintage but not the best shape. I haven't found any really old silver. Weird. I'm due man. I find coppers like they're goin outta style :-)

That crotal is the same as the one I found yesterday, except yours isn't missing a chunk, lol. I didn't know if it was a 6 or a 9. Nice hunts!
