I went back to a boat ramp grass parking area that I cut my teeth on. I thought I have covered this place, every square inch. But over the past two years, I have been learning my machine better and better. I started finding clad and lead weights that somehow I had over missed. Then I find my oldest coin, a 1901 Indian head penny ,only my second ihp to date. Then I find am even older coin an 1876 seated liberty quarter. Got that feeling ,you know that feeling, we have all felt it. How do you describe it. Really! I just sit there and enjoy. Thanks for looking. 20160708_145329.jpg20160708_145257.jpg20160708_145223.jpg20160708_145150.jpg

Capt.ken...wow, awesome finds! The ihp has great detail and I'm LOVIN' that seated !! That was certainly a very productive hunt, thx for sharing...ddf

Yep. I can attest to the scenario. It's kind of funny. We all sort of start doing a LOT of assuming in this hobby.
Nothing there, too large a signal, too small, too tinny, too low vdi, etc. etc. etc.

One thing that is absolutely certain is that treasure is almost NEVER where one expects it to be, it's where it's found.
AND....another thing is that one thing EVERYBODY brings to every hunt, is accumulated experience. More hunts, more experience. Eventually, that one, soft, shaky kind of signal that you've passed over many times before starts to sound just a little different. You dig and voila!

Excellent saves!

I'm still looking for a Seated Quarter. I have found 2 Seated Dimes but no quarters. Congrats on some really sweet coins

Great to hear that's a handful of good finds!!!

Congratualtions on the large silver! :occasion14:
