We went back to the Roman site we started last week. It took a while to get a picture of the field. Looks like we stumbled over the outskirts first and found the main area later. Clearly indicated by nails, lead and bigger stones used for the foundation of a stone building. And, almost forseeable, this area was hunted before with not much left. Only tiny pieces of lead were under the coil.
Today we went back to the area where we think the wood framed buildings with thatched roof once stood and gridded through the iron. Deus time. And the detector did good! Sniffed out a couple small coins and more brooches. The medieval one (ca. 10th-11th C.) had three tiny silver balls inserted in the middle which fell out when cleaning. One escaped through the sink, so only two shown in the picture. Sorry, no pics of lead and WWII trash today. It went dark and i don't wanted to carry that stuff inside, wife had cleaned everything up today....
