Nice points! That archaic bevel sure has needle tip. Your dove is really similar to the one I found pictured in my avatar. I realize mine is a notched base but, as far as flaking, size, and style are concerned they are really similar. Yours is more symmetrical I must confess. Nice points.

Thanks for the nice comments the thebes is from ross county, ohio and the dove is from
pickaway county, ohio. yes they are my personal finds.the thebes has a needle tip,not sure what
type of flint on the thebes i was told it could be nethers flint ridge, or adams county, chert.
the dove seems to be upper mercer.

Choo,
Thank you for posting your wonderful finds. Some of the better personal finds I have seen for a long time.
Not sure on material for thebes, but it is not Nethers. I have noted that a large number of Ohio found thebes are made of local cherts. Anyone else noticed this?
Picture is one I found in either Brown or Adams County. I would need a GPS on the site to figure out which county it is. Local chert used. Some call it 4 Mile, I just say "local". Piece is right about 3" long.
Regards,
Jon Dickinson
