Got out for a few hours in the afternoon and went walking an old and run-down(scary!) neighborhood asking for permissions. Met some very nasty people and a couple of very nice people. One old guy asked for my number so he could call me when he finds his old coin collection...so he could give it to me! Well now, that was a shocker!
It was on his yard where I found the silver Rosie, the wheat and the play money. The rest came mostly from curb strips I got permissions on.

The takes were:

Chain marked 18k (but tested as 8k)???
1948 Rosie dime
1954 wheat penny
1950 10 cent play money
Once silver plated ring
Live .380acp HP round
Reno Rodeo pin
$4.85 in clad

Pretty fun afternoon overall, and I escaped with my life, so that was good.

Happy hunting all!

Almost exclusively using The Legend now. Multi 2 in Park mode with Ground Tracking on and All Metals for this type of hunt.

Well done oldmxrat! Finding 100 silvers in a year is no small feat. The fact that you hit that mark in July is really remarkable. Keep it up, and be safe out there! No amount of silver is worth a busted head ( or worse).

Looks like a nice trip and it’s nice to find a good person in your travels.

sweet, love that silver (and nice people)

Well done!
Reaching #100 and the years only 1/2 over is a winner.
Hope you get a call from the old fellow.

Given your location, that amount of silver in that amount of time is incredible- Strong work- Congrats!

Thanks! It helps that I'm retired and hugely addicted to md'ing and therefore spend an enormous amount of time digging and researching! :laughing7:

Also, I don't go to sketchy areas without a friend and my trusty Ruger in my belt.

That would be pretty cool, even though there's no thrill quite like digging them yourself!

Thanks Jeff, it definitely requires thinking outside the box. So many detectorists here and very limited historical populations doesn't help.
Thank goodness my wife is understanding about this. Probably just glad I'm not a gambler.
