I was told about a possible plantation-house with slave's quarters that I should search, quite a while ago. I did some research, found the owner and made contact, about a week ago. But I wasn't allowed to go- because it was still Turkey Season and there were hunters in the woods- rats!
Well, Turkey season is over and today I spent my first afternoon there. WOW! This is (maybe) NOT the place with the plantation- or at least I couldn't PROVE it was. BUT, I found so much stuff that I couldn't dig it all, and I was unable to carry all that I DID dig. I found more square nails today than I had in months before today!
IDK that much about horses and stuff, so maybe someone can enlighten me- are these OLD shoes, harness tack, and (perhaps) a buggy canopy support arm?
Also, anyone know what the sculpted round (bed-post) looking object could be? Or the (I believe) copper disc with flattened lip was, or HECK, anything about ANY of the stuff I brought home today?
Also, with this type of stuff there, what kind of site would you say that I am hunting?
Thanks in advance for looking and for any input!
It's the mystery of the history that drives me!
