We went back this afternoon after we had to look on some other fields with little success.
Started on the side, detecting towards the area we had coins. Lots of trash and no roman finds brought us a better picture of the site. The main area is probably on the other side of the path between two fields. It's planted with sugar beet and will keep us going in late autumn.

I found two parts of a silver knife handle about 20 feet apart...

And the find of the day. I had seen the nice green in the dirt and moved my coil over. Nothing... Bent over and see the hole.
Roman stone bead, 18mm long. Made my day.

Well done.
On the ball - congrats

Good score on that bead! Like those Romans too. Great hunt.

those Roman coins are awesome

Nice overall results. Well done.
Is the stone bead polished that way, or does it have an enamelling on it?

It's polished stone. I guess it was more shiny some 1800years ago. I'm no expert in stones, when it's wet it has a greenish shine not like charcoal as on the pic.
