Obtained a new permission from a family farmer who’s family has lived on this property since 1803. Most of the property is currently planted in crops, including the site of the original home, but I managed a quick scout along the edge of one fields and found a few things including a flat button, back marked London and has the faint images of flying birds on the front possibly grouse, turkeys or pheasants. Also got a small buckle, ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1529182401.271440.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1529182440.857133.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1529182457.053952.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1529182470.794325.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1529182513.952249.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1529182537.512949.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1529182553.478498.jpg a pair of d ring handles, some lead, a piece of brass stamped with letters and some type of shell. The shell is approx. 40mm and strongly resembles a large shotgun shell. Any help with identification would be immensely useful. This property is located within 10 miles of the battle of five forks in Dinwiddie County Virginia.

Nice buckles and flat button recovery! :occasion14:

Near the center of the paper plate , may be a tang to a breech/breech plug to a firearm.

Congrats on the permission and some real nice interesting finds. Good work.

I believe you are correct relevant chair it has no markings on it for identification. I looks similar to a thompson.
