Until someone pipes in - does it happen to look like Need info about a token I found (Feb 24, 2006, 09:58 PM)?

From Thread: idahotokens To answer your question, you can get info on this token from the standard reference on transportation token, Atwood's Catalogue of United States and Canadian Transportation tokens.

But, since you may not have a copy handy, here's what the book says. The piece is catalog no. LA 670 A, made of white metal (it looks like some chemical action has changed the composition of yours), and was used starting in August, 1919. Varieties exist, and the catalog value in my 1970 3rd edition was 15?. It goes on to say that the New Orleans Railway & Light Co. operated from 1905 to 1922, when it became the New Orleans Public Service Co.

Can you post a pic? Is it the one with the cut out "N" in the center? If so, locally, they don't bring much other than from French Quarter junque shops that cater to the tourists. One of those shops might get 8 or 9 $ for one. There's actually one on ebay with an asking price of $60, but that's really wishful thinking. Fair price is maybe a buck or two in good condition. They may be more desirable to collectors in other areas, I don't know.

It has the cutout N. If it was a coin I'd grade it fine to extremely fine. Thanks to all who replied. It is still to cold here to do any metal detecting. Gary
