Hey guys. Literally did one pass about 200' long in my go-to field and scored my new oldest coin! It's completely toasted. It was holes at one time, and probably hit with a plow. After a round of electrolysis, I could see a date. It's a 1737 British half penny. You can make out the 37 in the pic, but you can see the entire date with the naked eye and under the right natural light. Thanks for looking and HH!

Congrats on your new oldest coin! Old coppers are great. Too bad they get toasted so easily in the fields. I'd love to find a legible one in a lawn or the woods someday. Thanks for sharing with us.

Congrats! I think I'd keel over if I found one with a readable date! So cool!

Great find!

Sweet find!
