I am new and using an MXT. I think I like it but have not used any other machine.

It sure seems to have a lot to "say". But I am getting used to it. Up to about 20 hours on it now.

Been learning it in my yard (1940 built). Have not got any silver, but zinc pennies, old keys, bullet casings, bullets, pull tabs, rivits aluminum, and copper rivit. (everything but the pennies was about 6" down)

Hit some tot lots to get some clad and hot wheels - this seems to help me get the feel to the tones and display that I can then take home and try deeper targets.

I am confident I will get a keeper out of this backyard. There is a church that I can see from my porch that was built in 1900.

I have been flipping between C/R and Prospecting on certain targets and using the Iron % when I get some of those "iffy" signals. I think the iffy signals are probably the good targets, but have to get the other stuff out of the way first.

I can also monitor my plugs dug from the sod. (my later ones are healing MUCH better than the first few)

Enjoy, and good luck.

I've had my MXT for 1 1/2 years. If the site has many nails a small coil is a must. The MXT is so sensitive. For the worst junk I use a 5" excelerator. Rob

Now, when a girl won't say "no" to anything you'd call her "indiscriminate" and not "so sensitive". :D

You're gonna love it! Might want to try reading the manual though. I figured I might want to after a couple of months of hunting with mine. :D I have always hunted in relic mode but today I thought I would try coin/jewelry. Nope. I didn't have a clue! :D Swapped back over after about...mmmm....two or three minutes. :D

Good luck!!!

Nana :)
