New, moving to Wichita Falls, TX

Will be moving to Wichita Falls, TX in October...
Just bought a TekNetics EurPro detector & anxious to put it to work...
I have had a White's MXT in the past but sold it...

Are there any fellow MD in Wichita Falls, TX
A MD Club would be great...

I know I can't MD in State Parks but what about the bare sand bars of Lake Wichita & also Lake Wichita Park around the socker & ball diamonds...

I don't think you'll have a problem in the lake bed.Do you know the history of the lake?

I believe that we can MD on the lake as it is well down in water level...
Not a state lake but city owned...
Has a large city park also...
I'll check with the city when we get there...
Was hoping I could find someone that has already detected around Wichita Falls...

I grew up near Wichita Falls but never hunted there.The park at the end of Fairway blvd was built about 10-15 years ago,before that it was just a grassy area were people parked,swam,partied. However I believe that is all fill dirt up to the present water line.My father in law said the lake went dry in the 50's.They used to race cars in the dry lake bed.Also there was a dance hall built on the water by the dam near the present day spillway.It burned down in the 50's or 60's.The pilings are still there and may be out of the water as the lake is waaayyyy low.Looks like a lot of silt has come into the lake so think "deep".
PS;when you move there, bring water!Thier almost dry.
