New Minelab Is on its way

I just ordered a new E-Trac from Detector Depot and can't wait to get my hands on it, (it will be here on WED).
This will be my first Minelab so i am really excited..I have been reading everything and watching all the videos on line about the E-Trac that i could find but i am sure i will have tons of questions for all of you.

If you have never used a Minelab before you are in for a lot of learning fun. It is very adjustable if you want to mess with the settings, but suggest you just use the turn on an go ones till you catch on. Now go have fun.

One of the best things you can do is get Andys book. Read it several times. That and the emulator will put you light years ahead.

The E-Trac book comes with it and i will be reading it as soon as i get it. I have not used a Minelab and was a little confused reading the the manual on line but after watching the instruction vids and playing with the emulator it does not seem confusing anymore. It comes with the rain cover but it is on back order so i guess i have to use a ziplock, (it rains a lot this time of yr). The only neg thing i seen about the E-Trac, is plp say the arm cuff is weak. What are yalls opinions on the arm cuff? I know i can decide for myself , but i have two days to kill until it gets here, and it is raining outside right now.

I got the after market S.S. arm cuff and it looks real nice but I don't feel it helps in the swinging of the unit any more than the factory arm cup, but it's pretty. I have had all three models of the Explorer and now I have the E-Trac since 2008 and compared to the Explorer's the E-Trac is so simple to use, a user friendly machine, turn on and go. The factory coin pattern is great but I would open up the upper right horizontal corner to line 49 to receive all large silver coins and leave the vertical line 50 blacked out to cancel out iron.
The only weak part I see is the stand under the battery compartment and the Explorer's had the same issue.

The best thing you could do is not buy the book and go out and learn the machine hands on.
The biggest problem guys have with this machine is they try to over analyze the detector which inevitably confuses and frustrates them.
I will be glad to help you and save you 20-30 bucks in the long run.
Just PM me and I'll shoot you some EASY settings.
