I am a new member and i do not know what i am dooing. I just ordered western eastern treasure i love the best finds page. i have been using a whites 6000 di pro sl for over 10 years. i am 37 years old and have been addicted to metal-decting from the first day my dad took me out when i was about 7 years old. i have found lots of cool things, silver coins, silver rings, kid rings, gold rings no dimonds, but i have not found a gold coin yet, i know i will some day i will. i was thinking of buying a new detector this year because the 6000 has a problem with the tr dis mode. i was thinking about a whites m6. well i can talk forever about detecting but i need to learn more about this form like posting my profile. i live in Michigan and it is cold here so i cannot go detecting untill spring so i will probly be here on the net if my kids will let me us the p.c. see you all later ;D

8)Hi Dave, I to am new to this club, but it looks like a great place to get together with other Detecting Folks.I'm a navy vet and disabled somewhat so I,m going to try and find some goodies underground. So far i have found alot of interesting topics on this site.I think you can add to your profile by clicking on your name and it takes you to the page to add to your name and etc. Have a good new Year (Idig)

Detector Dave, don't worry we all have to start somewhere in this hobby. I've been treasure hunting for about thirty five years and I have not found a gold coin as haven't many others. You are starting out right with the magazine. Read all you can and the things will come. The Whites M6 is a fine detector and easy to operate.

Where in Michigan are you?

Hi DD, I'm new too. The folks I have met here are great. I guess I need to fix my profile too! I forgot all about it cause I have been so busy reading all the great post here. Catch ya later.

M6 is a good machine and easy to operate. I think it will be good to you if you decide to get one. I use a XLT and love it but in my opinion it has to many bells and whistles on it. The only thing I dont like about the M6 is that the screen has no backlight on it and since I do hunt in the evening hours sometimes that would be kind of a pain to me.

Welcome, and glad to have you.

This is a great place to find out which detector to get. On the main forum page there is a room that is broken down into various detectors. You can search these depending on which detector you are interested in. Plus there are some very experienced people on here that will also help you.

I've been doing this since 1970 and i've yet to find a silver or gold coin.
Do like me and hang in there, some day they will come.
Welcome to TNet and good luck in your future hunts.
