I'm looking for some advice on which detector I should purchase. I've narrowed it down to a choice between the Garrett Ace 350 and the Teknetics Delta 4000. As far as I can tell they are nearly the same feature wise, but I would like to know which one performs the best? I would also like to know if either one is advanced enough that I won't want to replace it too soon as I gain experience?

Thanks for any advice that you can give including other models in about the same price range.

Thanks
Robert

welcome, if you're going to stay at it..the AT pro would a good first one, its user friendly/easy to learn, good hunting!

Hello and welcome aboard Robert! Good luck on finding the perfect MD :)...

Thanks for the advice. I wish I could afford the AT Pro, but I have to get by on a small fixed income. Maybe I might be able to upgrade later on.

Hello ralexander welcome to treasurenet!

You are likely to get as many opinions on the best detector as there are users on treasurenet...

I recently got the ACE 350 and have been pretty happy with the purchase. I am not familiar with the other machine so I can not give you much help on comparison between the two.

The ACE 350 is a good solid capable machine that is simple enough it doesn't take a lot of time to learn. I think you would be happy with it.

I am happy with my Garrett GTI 1500. I like the quality I got for the money and the good service from the company. I find Garrett machines to be user friendly. I am not at all familiar with Teknetics, so I cannot comment on them. I have worked with a 350 and it is a good machine. The plan is to find enough with the 350 that you can afford an upgrade.
