Hello. I am fresh into metal detecting and very new to the website. I started MD with a bounty hunter quicksilver. I wanted to see if I was going to like this hobby. My first couple of digs I got a ton of junk......but I managed to pull out a Merc dime, silver dime, and a 1910 wheat penny.. I immediately gained a new hobby. So I bought a Garret ace 350, and it is awesome. This forum is cool and I hope to be able to share some treasures with everyone in the future.

Ahhhh .those first coins got u hooked ,esp, the silver In my opinion of the few places in G.A. to hunt ;at least for Civ War Era relics. The best places to live are 1st the Savannah area with its history dateing back to C.W. and further to Colonial era & a great Native American past also , as well as easy access to N.Fl, S.C .up and down the east costal area. 2ed the Atlanta area in North to Chattnooga TN, wich is the area im in ,with most of this areas good hunting grounds lost to development & off limits. Id rather live where you do so would my lovely wife. Best of luck & I see many more finds in your future .

Yep you found silver your going to have the bug now too.. Nice coins and congrats on your finds and welcome to the obsession..

welcome from South Carolina and good luck i know you won't need it in Savannah
