New member Southeast Texas

Hello folks, I'm Cliff and I live in Beaumont, Texas. I have owned my metal detector for quite a few years but I really haven't used it much as I have never been able to find anyone to get me started. I hope to change that now that I have moved to this area. I really could use some help in getting started if anyone in the area would be good enough to lend me a hand. I am not looking for someone to tell me their best places of course, just some decent places to get started.

I currently have an old school White Classic SL which I would be glad to upgrade if I find that I would use it more than I have so far. As I said it is several years old and it still looks like new due to lack of use.

Anyone interested in helping a new guy out?

my name is darrell payne i live in vidor and i just got permission for this summer sometime to metal detect spindletop gladys city boomtown if your interested when i get more info on the detect date i can fill you in.i am a new detectorist i have already hit the city park and an old funeral home down here all i found was wheat and new pennys ad a cross with a rosary necklace on it and a pair of vice grips..getting ready to detect another park this weekend.
