Hello all. Just found this website. Very cool & i enjoy your posts. My totals from yesterday was as follows.
$100 in dimes - skunked
$200 in halves - 3 Bens, 2 1964 JFK's & 1 67 JFK. :headbang:
All found in 2 rolls of the halves. The others were dumped, all heads in the same direction. Got my first box of halves ordered. Finally found a branch willing to order me one.
Thanks
Doug

Welcome to the forum Doug. You did very well to find that much silver in only $200 of halves. What part of N GA are you in? I'm about 30 miles north of Blue Ridge GA, just into TN. I'll be heading to the Chattanooga TN area tomorrow on a small road trip, already have to go that way so I might as well hit some banks while there.

Hey there Doug
My uncle used to live in Blairsville, GA. He moved to FL a few years ago to retire away from the cold winters. 10 yrs ago I used to pan and sluice for gold down near Dahlonega, GA but my arthritis limited my mobility to the point that I gave that up. I now try to do things that don't require me hiking long distances while carrying lots of gear.

I prefer CRHing now. Despite hauling heavy boxes of coins to the car, at least I can sit in comfort and search through those coins.

I heard about the work being done on the dam at Blue Ridge lake, never thought to try dirtfishing there. Is nugget hunting the primary reason to dirtfish the lakebed now?

I have a pretty good detector that has metal identification and selectable metal rejects, but last time I used it was a week of sluicing/panning/nugget hunting in northwestern California last summer. A friend of mine is a partner on 160 acres of gold claims along the north fork of the Feather River.

Bob
