Hello fellow detectorists,
these are some recent finds from a 1750's farmhouse. Found them with an ace 250! Cant wait to see what turns up with a better machine. Im new to the hobby and my girlfriend will tell ya, Ive got the itch! I suppose the poison Ivy was my first silver ever, a seated liberty dime, found recently and shown below. A few days later I found some nice indian heads and a mercury dime and rosie.

What do yall think of the button!? Does anyone know anything about it?

Wicked awesome finds! Ill let you know that theres no cure for the itch its like getting bit by a vampire! HH

wow nice finds! i recently recieved the ace 350. still awaiting those silvers! HH

Definitely a nice button! I have a few like that, and think of them as about 1790s.

Nice coins!

Great job. The 1864 Indian and the flat button are your oldest finds. I will be curious to see what you pull from this site. I think ironpatch's estimate for the button is spot on.

1790's sweeet. It was a pulltab on the ace i'm glad i dugger'. ill be digging everything now

When you're hunting a site that has the potential for early finds the meter is no longer relevant, and a bad idea to use it at all.

Some great finds there! Nothing wrong with the detector you have, listen closely and it will tell you plenty. Congrats

Nice finds there. I agree with Iron Patch on the button date. I have found that style of button on 1790s sites, but yours is much larger than any I've found.

Agree with Iron Patch on the meter. Hard to hunt all metal around old homes due to the trash etc. but need to dig it all. If it sounds and pinpoints shallow don't pass it. I have dug some killer coins that were on the surface or very near it and lots of clad that was fairly deep even in supposedly undisturbed ground. That site has about as good a potential for the early 1800's or even a 1700's date as you are likely to find. If we don't get pics and updates from you about this site we will start throwing rocks.:angry9: Welcome and congrats on a great start.:icon_thumleft:
