Hey All,

Just joined the forum. New to the metal detecting hobby. Been a bottle digger for about a year and that lead to metal detecting. My friend Stealth Digger got me into both bottles and metal. I just like old things. I like to hold something I found in my hand that has been in the ground for 100 years or more. Its a connection to history that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! Fortunately, my digger friend has allot of places to explore near him so its fun for me to go to visit him and play in the woods finding cool stuff. My first metal detector is a Garret Ace 350. I also have a mine lab pro find 25. My garret is working great, but my pro-find 25 seems to give false readings if I have the sensitivity turned all the way up It will beep in air). It also seems to beep if I press it too hard in the dirt (does not take much). I have not found allot, but my friend Stealth Digger has found allot of col stuff (coins and relics). All in all its a fun reason to be outside and have fun.

You didn't mention your state (New England consists of Maine, Connecticut Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont) - so, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting your state for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.

:hello:Welcome aboard ThunderChief! I know the feeling about finding old stuff. It's a trip back in time holding on to long lost find! I think its the catalyst that keeps me hunting.
