New member from Mississippi

I just purchased my first metal detector and am looking forward to learning the ropes of my new hobby. I stumbled across this forum while doing searches about metal detecting and my initial quick review tells me I've found a very informative spot. I'm anxious to start learning all I can.

I made my first outing yesterday in one of my hunting areas and found several odds and ends...nothing special or valuable, but I had a great time. That's why I'm starting this hobby anyway. I don't expect to find the great hidden treasure of a lifetime. I only want to enjoy the outdoors and discover a bit of the unknown.
