New member first find ever beside trash! Necklace pendant?

Before and after photos of our first ever find (besides pop tops) was also our first trip to the keys. We found this at sombrero beach. Do you guys think it could be real? If so where do you think it came from? Any input is appreciated new members as well! Thanks so much!

The way you're holding it I think the eyelet on the left should be the top. Looks like a good piece.

That white powdery corrosion suggests pot cast metal as if it was silver it would typically have a black look to it in my opinion.

Yeah for some reason the photos posted to the side they were taken with that piece up im just wondering if the jewel could be real

I think his photos are sideways.

Its a cool piece even if its not silver!

Its hard to tell but some of the way its discolored looks plating flaking off. As mentioned, look for a stamp. You can also hold a magnet to it, if it sticks to it then its not silver. Silver will rapidly tarnish when submerged in bleach but that wont tell you if its plated. You can get acid tests online for under $10.

So did try the magnet trick you mentioned and none of our magnets stuck to it heres side photos as well
