I just bought my first MD, a Bounty Hunter lonestar on Ebay for $112.00 with head phones. I went out in my front yard and found 6q 5d 2n and about 25p's 2 are wheaties 45 & 50. I read the posts about the negitive comments about the BH and I don't agree. Being new to this hobby I can locate a target and have found them all. Being new when I get a hit I dig, I don't care what I find I hope it's nice not just another Lincoln memorial penny. I got a permit to hunt in the local parks so I'll be busy this week end. thought I'd give my 2 cents

Welcome to the hobby and the forum Skydiv! I had to say, although I am not familiar with your machine, I started off with a BH Pioneer 101 myself, and I still like it. It's my backup, and I now use a Garrett ACE250, and the difference is like night and day. Since I started using the ACE250, my coin count has roughly tripled! Believe me, I still like using the BH from time to time, and it's great for my daughter or my hunting buddy (he's too cheap to buy his own, lol), but I am sold on Garrett! Just my opinion! Hope to see many post and finds from you Skydiv! Happy Hunting!

Welcome skydiv!? I have been MDing since I got a BH Land Ranger for Christmas.? BH is an established brand made in USA and has a great warranty plus parts are always available.? I guess you could compare a BH to a Chevrolet of the GM car lineup.? It ain't a Cadillac but it will get you where you want to go.? I have really enjoyed mine so far and still learn something nearly every time I go out.? Later on when I become much more proficient I may move up to a more sophisticated machine but for now it's all the machine I can handle.?
