Hi everyone..havnt posted much because I havn't been out detecting that much because of the cold. We finally got some freak warm weather here in East KY and I got permission to do a local small yard with an old house that is still being rented out, but currently empty.

I got to hit it 3 times the last few days and day one was just taking out the trash and $1 clad..2nd time out I scored my 1st silver quarter FINALLY!...a dateless type 2 SLQ and a 45 D wheat.

The SLQ was next to the old stone walkway near the front steps and just 3 inches deep. Went back out and swept the place slow today and got a neat old handle that was deep and a 59 Rosie in the back area.

Not shown are about 35 common pennies which were all over this yard.

Was over 19 years ago and I still remember finding my first SLQ, grrat feeling. congrats!!!!

Very sweet.Nice finds.Congrats.HH.

It was a great feeling...I was lucky I guess..its my favorite coin of all the silvers. I figured if I ever found a silver quarter it would be a early 60's or 50's.

Congrats on your first SLQ! Nothing like the gleam of silver!

Congratulations.........good hunt with good finds:icon_thumleft:

Wow! Congratulations, and cool that you didn't scar it up with the shovel!

First hunt ever for me with a detector...I got out of the car at an old skating rink and put the coil right down on a Standing Liberty quarter. Mine was also a no date type 2. It was the first signal I ever dug, that was 1984 and I haven't found another SLQ since, go figure!

The SLQ in my opinion is just about the most beautiful coin ever minted.............HH

Silver silver silver, look at all that silver. Good job.:icon_thumleft:

Very nice find, congrats!
