I think yesterday I said I was looking at new land (350 acres). I was wrong, one of the fields was 350 acres the total land is just over 1200 acres :o Its spread across 3 different areas & boarder 3 churches. The land next to the churches look excellent. We spent most the morning survey our new land like kings :) They own a huge mounded hill which is the biggest in the area & has a view to die for. The farmer told us that the archaeologists have been field walking his land & found lots of roman pottery & think they have a Villa. What more can I say 8) Can't wait until harvest.

We did the edge of one field & found a Bronze Age Socketed Axe fragment (3000 years old) 3rd bronze age this year & 3rd ever.
We finished in a cow field next to the farm & found a 1lb cannon ball ;D Our first ever. It was only a few weeks ago I on this forum that I hadn't found one & maybe never will :D

NOT PICTURED:
Gave the following to the farmer & girl friend:
Childs silver ring made into a twisted knot design - Victorian?
1844 Half Farthing - first we have found - unusual coin used in the colonies
Musket Ball
Fob Watch (WW1 era) - complete other than glass front

Tomorrow we try another new field
