That badge is beautiful! And I like the store-card in the first pic, too. What does it say on the back?

Big welcome and that CW badge just blew my mind!!! I would say thats a find of a life time! Wow!

Those are some nice finds there. Welcome to the T-Net Family. Hope to see more of your posts.

Re: new here (James Hill civil war finds.)

I live in the town where james hill lived , i know the history very well , i have permission to hunt the yard the button and the badge were about 4 ft, apart . and about 7 inches down, black sand river bottom soil., the back of the badge you can see where the pin clasp was , here are some pics . of the house, and the front yard , i also found the skeleton key for the house ,in the front yard , he built the house in 1856 , moved back here after the civil war and was very important in the history of the town, this spring the front porch is coming off, added at a later date , it covers the front and side of the house and extends 8 to 9 ft. out , so might be some good stuff there too, i hope , i had a write up on the whites detector page for oct, 2007. found with a whites prizm 5 , i now use a minelab se , so i might find deeper stuff in the yard. thanks for looking

Hey Dave.... Welcome aboard.

Thanks for putting a picture of "my baby" up. Can't get enough of that Barber.

That's a neat looking house. Have you been able to get inside and check the walls and floors?

Wow! Those are really cool finds! Thanks for sharing them. Now if only I could find something cool to post...sigh... :'( :)

Any chance that's a real opal in the first picture? If it is, it's a very nice one!

Great place to MD. You've found awesome things and please post any new finds from there.

Welcome from the state of florida, wow on your finds to be able to hunt a individual's home of great american history is so fantastic and more is the fact I get to see it too. TY for sharing what you found so far and I look forward to more to see in the future.
