Hello,

I am new to detecting and this forum. I posted a question a few days ago concerning Tesoro Vaquero usrers and got 0 replies. Just looking for some tips to get started with this machine.
It has rained since the day I got it, and I am eager to get started.

Also; anyone from the N.C & S.C area? I live on the state line near the Kings Mountain Battle Ground.

Welcome to the forum dhall. There are a few of us from NC/SC. I live over east of Charlotte. Cant help you with the Tesoro ? as I use a Garrett. Maybe someone will ring in with something.

sorry D don't know much about that one...............

Thanks for taking the time to reply Zeke & Kermit!

D,

welcome to the board, sorry about not getting any replies for your question.

I'm into a Garrett now and have no knowledge of the machine your asking about.

This is a good board and don't let the lack of replies turn you off. Hang around, think you will be able to get

some hints on good detecting.

Again, welcome.

have a good un.............

Welcome to the hobby and the forum. I live in upstate S.C. and the Kings Mountain area is pretty cool. About two hours from my house, but I have a sister and a brother in Rock Hill. You may like to know that the surrounding counties all played a part in pre, war and post war history. York county is one of the oldest in the state. The Kings Mountain state park is a cool place but many areas are off limits. Try the library. You will be surprised to find the history ( if you don't already know ) of that whole area. Give us a holler if I can help. I do have one spot that I'm researching for a new hunt. I'll let you know if I get permission. HH! Chris

I used to live in Rock Hill, there is a hunting club in that area . I never joined but I heard they had a lot of fun. I used to drive to Columba and hunt a skirmish site there.Lots of history around but there are alot of hunters also. Good luck and happy hunting.
