It's been years since I dusted off my CZ7a but I have the itch again .
Since looking through the posts and joining here caused the itch I will bother all here with one of my finds from years ago.
The cross , the bullet and what looks to be a silver hanger from a ribbon were found within an 18 inch circle beside a rock foundation and I feel they were lost together.
One day I will sit back and try to look up the soldier.
Thanks for looking !

Beautiful 'Southern Cross'
Spencer round is cool also especially with the 'x' on the tip, Wish Spencer Cases came out that nice these days.

Don't know what the Silver piece is , but it Cool! & Silver is Silver.

I look forward to your finds.

Cool!!!
A-lot of imagination can go on thinking back to the time of his Service (Made a Son ,in early 1864- ).

Lived a long life as well.

I thought it was cool that there was a picture of him.

Nice finds and history.
The silver looking thing, looks like a sheath latch for a bayonet. :dontknow:
(thought I'd take a stab at it.....) :laughing7:
I'd be hunting that area, heavy! GL&HH.

The southern cross is fantastic. Great work.
I have some photos of ancestors wearing the cross while at a reunion. There were ribbons on them.

Great finds on the southern cross and the other finds. It makes one wonder if that bullet had some special meaning to this horse soldier and cavalryman. Thanks for sharing.
