New to the forum here, live in clintwood va...basically Pine mountain is my backyard...

Never been treasure hunting, but that's about to change. Many old home places from many many years ago to search and of course the mountain and caves linked to Johnathan Swift. I know of numerous caves on the mountain...Pigeon Water Cave and a few other caves within 1/2 mile of the PWC. Also the dozens of other caves between Elkhorn city/breaks to pound gap.

Lots of info here from some very knowledgeable people, and I hope I can share some information I have.

Absolutely love the area I live in...wouldn't change it for the world....

and Kingsport isn't but maybe 50 minutes to an hour from me, depending on traffic in Weber City...The wife and I actually come that way a lot. ...

Maybe when the weather is a little better we can hook up & do a little digging around. I've been messing with this stuff off and on for years but only been in this area 2 years and don't have any good places to go. On my list of things to do is to check out that racetrack up your way in Coeburn too.

One day we'll go upon the mmountain and I'll show ya around...full of interesting things....As I mentioned pine mountain was associated with swift and his "lower mines".... ever been to the breaks?

Never been up there in that area at all poking around. Just been halfway there cruising around with the wife on a Saturday afternoon doing tourist stuff. Natural Tunnel State Park, antique shops, junk like that. Also hit an auto salvage yard in Coeburn one day to get some parts for one of my cars.

Welcome from the Left Coast. Sounds like you have plenty to explore and hunt.

Welcome from Alabama and happy hunting to you. Be sure to share your cool finds as well as the things that you learn.

I'm in Big Stone Gap! Although I can't help you because I am as green as the grass at this so I'll be learning too. LOL. But maybe we can hook up one day and find some places.
