New here...and I have a question

Hello all, I just found this site today. I don't even own a metal detector yet, but the background picture of coins on the home page has what looks like a coin that I've had for nearly 30 years. I've tried to figure out what it is on and off over the years. And it seems someone hear may know the answer. Hopefully can post a pic.

its spanish, but thats all i can help you with. can you get a closer picture, perhaps a scan of the coin?

LOL, that was a scan. My scanner no longer seems to work though. I took some pics and put them on the "What is this" site.
It seems it is a Lima 8 Escudo from 1711. I'm trying to find out if it's real or not. I also put it on the "Spanish Cob" site.
