New here and I have a question. What is this Rock???

Found this today while I was on a hike. I have no Idea what it is but take a close look at the inner structure...any ideas?

I don't know if it is quartz, because quartz is usually a bit more clear, or if it isn't clear, it is a smoky color. Not sure what the inside stones are, but nice find! May I ask where you found it?

I found it out in the Mukwonago River, SE Waukesha County, WI. I also found some other strange rocks during panning. Ill post some picks after the week end. Thanks for all the help.

Did you taste it ? Looks like salt.. If it tastes really salty its salt, if it taste like a rock its some type of quartz.
