Well just to let all the TN people around here......I'm sure you guys don't know me. I know this might sound crazy but I'm trying to get some of my pictures of REALLY old relics and coins sent to me. I am currently stationed in Turkey I'm in the Air Force(have been for 5yrs.), but its hard for me to get pics because I'm from Texas and that's where all MY Treasures are....but i just wanted to leave a little message and let you guys know that everyone that is on here are my real heroes.....keep up the good work guys and hopefully i will post some things soon.....take care and happy hunting.

Good stuff,A friend of mine was stationed there and he found a tiny roman gold coin on the surface of the ground. He did not detect at the time and that is what got him into the hobby.He said he did not think it was real but it turned out to be the real Mcoy. He showed me the coin and I about fell over . I was in Turkey about 12 years ago in Marimas and Istanbul and had a good time. Take a tour to Ephesus if you get a chance,it is amazing.Thanks for serving and enjoy your time there.

i can but im still waiting on the parents to send me some samples....no offense to them but they are a little older and sometimes it takes them a while to figure the whole computer/digital camera thing. just takes patience, lol. but hopefully soon. take care.

Welcome aboard! I was an Air Force brat the first 10+ yrs of my life. I was in Turkey for 2 yrs., up in the north west corner on the sea of Marmara, near Istanbul. That is where the treasure bug bit me hard. I was using my eyeballs back then, but they worked perfect. I found some neat stuff there, including a Byzantine coin with Jesus on one side and some emperor dude on the other. Ancient history is everywhere you look and it is such a beautiful country. I would give anything to sweep a detector over all that history.
