New guy in northern NY fourth coast area

Just got a fisher F22 for my 74th birthday, wife is trying to get me out of the house more since COVID. started out by looking in my backyard(4Acres) and just barely got to scratch the first 100 yards before it got too damn cold. Seemed to get lots of signals bur didn't find anything. Actually don't think i got enough time to realize what the signals even mean. watched a lot of beginner videos, so i am going real slow back and forth, not swinging up on the ends of the swings, yada, yada, So I'm on here looking for tips from more experienced people especially those with a fisher 22. look forward to some tips, thanx in advance. Also looking for anyone close that I could dig with.
